Foreshore Product Care Guide

Whether you’ve chosen a ready-made or custom piece, here’s how to keep your cover(s) in pristine condition:

1. General Care

  • If your cover gets wet, hang or lay it flat to dry immediately. Use crumpled paper inside to help absorb moisture and maintain shape.

  • Always test any cleaning method on an inconspicuous spot first—this helps avoid discoloration or damage later.

2. Fabric Covers (Cotton & Poly-Cotton)

  • Mix a little mild soap with warm water and gently dab or brush stained areas using a soft cloth or brush. Let it air dry.

  • Avoid harsh detergents or bleach—they can fade or weaken the fibers.

  • Storage tip: Always keep these in a cool, dry place. Avoid moisture and direct sunlight to prevent fading and mildew.

3. Synthetic PU Leather

  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth and a drop of mild soap, then air dry.

  • This material is durable—still, avoid abrasive cleaners to preserve its finish.

  • Condition occasionally with a suitable synthetic leather conditioner if needed.

4. Genuine Leather

  • Start by gently brushing away surface dirt.

  • Clean with a soft cloth dipped in a mild soap and warm water solution. Use circular motions focused on soiled areas.

  • Rinse with a damp cloth and pat dry using a soft towel. Allow the cover to fully air dry before further steps.

  • Once dry, apply a small amount of quality leather conditioner. Rub gently in the direction of the grain to restore suppleness and shine.

5. Storage & Odours

  • Store all covers (especially leather and synthetics) in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity. Keep knit or lighter fabric covers in drawers or on shelves to maintain shape.

  • To remove odors from golf headcovers, you can try several methods: airing them out, using baking soda, or a combination of gentle cleaning with a mild detergent and vinegar. For persistent smells, consider using a fabric deodorizer spray or, for leather covers, specialized leather cleaner and conditioner.
